Hello

I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Tamar, a PACFA Registered Psychotherapist based in Melbourne.

TAMAR, named after the date palm, a tree renowned for its resilience. Even in harsh conditions, it continues to grow, drawing strength from deep roots and adapting to its environment.

That symbolism reflects the way I understand people.

I don't believe people are broken.

I believe we are shaped by our experiences, our relationships and the environments in which we live. Like the date palm, each of us has an extraordinary capacity for growth.

My role isn't to fix people.

It's to create a space where you feel safe enough to explore, understand yourself more deeply and reconnect with who you already are.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent many years in hospitality and business. Looking back, I realise I was always drawn to the same thing: creating places where people felt welcome, connected and that they belonged.

Today, I do the same work in a different setting.

If this philosophy resonates with you, I would love to welcome you to TAMAR Therapy.

Things I believe

People are remarkably resilient.

We all make sense in the context of our experiences.

Belonging is fundamental to wellbeing.

Healing begins with feeling safe enough to be ourselves.

Hope deserves protecting.

Food has a way of bringing people together.

Joy is part of healing.

Concerts count as therapy. (I'll happily defend this one.)

There is always room to flourish.
